City Winery Brisbane is a working micro-winery sourcing grapes from across Australia’s key growing regions, bringing them to the city where their winemakers create delicious wine.

They are located at 162 Edward St, Brisbane, providing space for private functions and events, a modern Australian restaurant, and private dining in the Winery’s cellar. With two other venues now under their belts, that is something for everyone here.

A story City Wine Brisbane can be proud of.

Reigniting Brisbane’s Viticultural History

In the 1800’s Brisbane had over 350 acres of grape vines spread throughout the city. One of these early vintners was Carl Gerler who had a vineyard along the Brisbane River where Nundah is today.

Carl’s 14-acre plot was home to a range of muscat grapes along with Verdehlo. However, Gerler believed that better grapes could be found outside of Brisbane, traveling by horse and cart to Toowoomba and Warwick to buy fruit bringing it back to the city where he made wine for the people, a tradition they are doing once again today.

Their work with a group of hand-selected growers from across Australia working alongside to ensure high-quality fruit that can be achieved which allows them to produce incredible wines. All Gerler Wines is made by hand, focusing on detail, producing wines that are world-class, interesting, and made with love.

Good wine starts with good grapes. Good grapes come from good people whose passion for producing quality fruit trumps everything.
