The Coffee Bar 4605 in Murgon: South Burnett's Best Coffee Shop

When it comes to quality coffee and an awesome cafe vibe, we here at Brisbane Cafes Dot Com Dot AU will travel far and wide, but that sure doesn’t mean travelling to Melbourne where the coffee’s often over-rated & served by snobby types who believe their own hype. We prefer the authentic taste of fantastic coffee served by dinky-di Queenslanders who know what they’re making and never disappoint.

Such it was that our scouts discovered the wonders of The Coffee bar 4605, as the number suggests all the way out of Brisbane-town, in Murgon. For those who haven’t heard of this place, Murgon is a town and locality in the South Burnett Region of Queensland, situated on the Bunya Highway 270 kilometres north-west of our state capital.

Helen and Shaun Walker took over the popular coffee shop in October 2017 and very quickly became the go-to spot for Murgon locals’ and visitors’ morning caffeine hit. Helen was previously a hairdresser who grew up in Murgon, and after many years away she returned to care for her parents. Once back in town her and Shaun saw the chance to buy a cafe, and so their dream began.

Focussed on great coffee, though the food is awesome too, The Coffee Bar 4605 is suddenly selling triple the amount of coffees it did when they began, and they’ll often serve up their very popular “bacon and egg roll with a coffee” around 40 times a day. To Helen and Shaun’s amazement, local people were loving what they’re doing so much, they were spreading the word about it – and recently they took out the People’s Choice Award for South Burnett’s best coffee shop.

Soy Latte with Honey for Some

“Coffee at The Coffee Bar 4605 is a must when visiting Murgon. It’s also the office for most of the community business people at times. I always get my soy cafe latte with honey in the regular size so I can enjoy the beautiful Aboriginal artwork on my takeaway cup.
